How to make a chat screenshot
Build each scene as a short exchange. The preview grows with your conversation, so every message stays in the exported image.
- Write both sides.
Add a message for either speaker, or paste a conversation with one speaker and message per line. Select a message to edit its text, photo, time or reaction.
- Set the scene.
Choose a chat style, rename the contact and switch the theme or phone frame. Use separate scenes for a new conversation or another ending.
- Export or keep creating.
Download PNG, JPG or WebP. Choose “Add speech bubbles to this scene” to open the image in our speech bubble maker and add a thought, caption or reaction.

Is the chat screenshot maker free?
Yes. All four chat styles, scene editing and PNG, JPG and WebP downloads are free, without an account or watermark.
Does this send real messages?
No. Chat Studio creates fictional conversation images. It does not connect to messaging accounts or send anything to the people named in a scene. Share mockups and jokes with enough context to avoid confusion.
Are these exact copies of messaging apps?
The four styles are original chat layouts with familiar blue, green, teal and community treatments. They are not affiliated with a messaging service or intended to reproduce every detail of a specific app.
Where is my project saved?
Your draft and imported photos are stored in this browser when local storage is available. Editing and export run on your device. Save a project JSON file for a portable backup; clearing browser data can remove the local draft.
Can I make multiple scenes or a video?
You can keep up to eight scenes with thirty messages each and preview messages appearing in order. This version exports one scene at a time as an image; playback is a preview, not a video download.
How does this work with the speech bubble maker?
The button below the preview renders your scene and opens it as a photo in the bubble editor. Add dialogue or a caption there. That image is flattened, while your editable chat remains in Chat Studio. The transferred image uses a separate draft from your regular photo workspace.
